2025 SC Education + Business Summit

Hi there!

I'm Leah Andrews, AVP for Communications at the SC Technical College System Office. I work to promote a technical college education at SC's 16 technical colleges through Start College Here, our website and social channels that help prospective students -- whether they're teenagers just out of high school, career changers, or retirees looking to try something new -- explore their educational and career options and learn how to kickstart their future.

In a previous life, I was a high school English and Creative Writing teacher for 17 years, striving to make Romeo and Juliet relevant (and fun!), helping students develop their voice as writers, and just doing life alongside teenagers. To see young people grow, discover, and shine is my greatest joy!

I'm an introvert (except on paper), so I've adopted this as my mantra: "A comfort zone is beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there." That's why I'm here -- to learn, experiment, and go back to my day job with fresh ideas about how to serve the next generation. (Even though crowds and packed agendas overwhelm the heck out of me...)
